At the September 2024 New York Fashion Week, Off-White presented its Spring/Summer 2025 collection, aptly named Duty Free. This show, staged by creative director Ibrahim Kamara, was a momentous occasion as it marked the brand's first-ever appearance at NYFW. The runway was set up in a symbolic and unconventional location—Brooklyn’s public basketball courts, underscoring Kamara's vision of community, inclusivity, and equality, while emphasizing the streetwear essence central to Off-White.
Kamara, who hails from Sierra Leone, infused the collection with a strong sense of global culture, mixing African craftsmanship with American streetwear influences. Drawing from his personal experiences, including time spent in Ghana, where he explored the roots that shaped both his and the late Virgil Abloh’s creative journeys, the collection was a celebration of the global traveler and modern cosmopolitan life.
For men’s fashion, Kamara presented a "modular urban uniform," featuring zip-off utility vests, colorful shredded denim, and streetwear with a twist. Many of the pieces were versatile and multifunctional, designed to adapt to different environments—from the busy streets of New York to global destinations. Collaborations with Ghanaian artist Nana Danso also brought hand-painted graphics, deepening the cultural connections within the collection.
